SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY
OF "SNOW WHITE" VERSIONS IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER
The editions selected here
and listed below were used for the development of the Snow White site,
either for textual or visual analysis, or both. There are other editions
available but time did not permit locating them. Although I used the early
German editions, it is not feasible to include these relatively rare and
out-of-print editions. Most of the items used and listed below are from
my personal collection. Chronological order is used to demonstrate the
frequency of re-tellings of this tale as well as to facilitate a sense
of historical development. Because HTML does not consistently read coding
for foreign words or letters, I have chosen to ignore accents and umlauts,
for which I plead guilty, although I have inserted an "e" in place of
the umlaut.
