| These words from the text let us know how Marianthe is feeling. She is hesitant, reluctant, concerned and unsure of how she will do in her new school. The last phrase gives us a glimpse into another part of Marianthe, however. The last phrase lets us see that underneath the fears is a layer of strength, like the hard pit of a peach. | |
