How to obtain an official copy of your grade or transcript from Rutgers University If you want to receive an official written copy of your grade at the end of a semester, you must request it. In order to be sure that your most recent semester's work appears on the transcript, you should wait to make the request until all grades have been submitted to the registrar: For a fall course: wait until about January 15th For a spring course: wait until about May 25th For a summer course: wait until about August 30th
There are several ways you can request a copy of your grade or a transcript of all your academic work at Rutgers. If you have a Rutgers Net ID (not a student ID, but a network ID):
If you are a current student you must have a Net ID. If you don't, please see the information at http://www.scils.rutgers.edu/programs/pds/NetID-StudentID.jsp So, with your Net ID, to request a transcript go to https://transcripts.rutgers.edu/transcripts/index.html and log in. If you do not have a Net ID but have an SS #:If you are a former student who does not have a Net ID, you can go to https://transcripts.rutgers.edu/transcripts/alumTranscriptGateway.tcr and log in. If you prefer to use the U.S. mail:If you do not have a social security number, or you are not willing to supply it, to request a transcript download the form at http://registrar.rutgers.edu/NB/OFF-TRANS.pdf, and mail it to the New Brunswick Registrar's office if you have been a SCILS student. Using the phone system: (1) Call any one of the phone numbers below: North Jersey: 973-648-1999 Central Jersey: 732-445-1999 South Jersey: 856-225-1999 (2) The automated system will ask if you are calling for registration information or grade information; press 2 for grade information. (2) The automated system will ask you for your nine digit student identification number -- this is your social security number. If you do not have a social security number or did not give us your social security number, you must use the student identification number assigned to you when you first registered at Rutgers . (3) You will be asked for your personal access code, which is the four digit representation of the month and day of your birth. For example, if your birthday is May 1st, your personal access code is 0501. If you have never given the university your birthdate, your personal access code is 1010. (4) You will be asked which year and semester you need information from. For Summer 2006: use 067 For Spring 2006: use 061 For Fall 2005: use 059 (5) The system will tell you your grade and your cumulative average. (6) You will have the option of having your grade mailed to you (press 1) at your home address or not. If you have any problems:

Rutgers Student ID numbers and Net IDsYour student identification number When you enter Rutgers you are assigned a 9 digit student ID number, called an RU ID, which is no longer your Social Security number. If you do not have a record of your student ID but you know your Net ID, you can look up your RU ID at https://cas.rutgers.edu/login?service=https://my.rutgers.edu/portal/Authentication%3fuP_fname=profile&renew=true If you do not know your RU ID and do not have a Net ID, please contact our office for the information by emailing to pds@scils.rutgers.edu. In addition to your RU ID, once you are officially registered for courses you should sign up for a Net ID which gives you access to network resources at Rutgers. Obtaining or checking your Net ID To register for a Net ID and password, which allows you to access Rutgers online systems to get information about course registration and transcript, you must first be an admitted student who is registered for at least one class. If this describes you, then you can register for a Net ID and password at https://www.eden.rutgers.edu/rats/rats.cgi Read the text and then click on Accept at the bottom of the page to start the process. Note that Professional Development Studies students are considered New Brunswick students. If you think you have a Net ID but cannot remember what it is, you can find out by visiting https://www.acs.rutgers.edu/netidquery/query.html You can use your Social Security number as your ID in the first field. This page will tell you just the ID portion of the Net ID, not your password.
