The Six Core Courses are each offered once during the academic year and are not offered in Summer Session. Three of the six core courses are offered each semester according to the following schedule: Fall Semester Spring Semester The Capstone Seminar is offered each semester including Summer Session. Context and Processes Courses are offered each semester by SCILS faculty in the fall and spring semesters through each of three departmentally linked areas. Each department approaches area offerings somewhat uniquely with some offerings dedicated to MCIS students (30 seats each) and others co-listed with graduate courses in the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program and the Ph.D. in Communication, Information and Library Studies program. Students have multiple options available each semester. The Communication Studies area minimally provides course offerings equivalent to four dedicated courses, or 120 course seats each year. The Knowledge Management and Media Studies areas make extensive use of co-listed courses, and each department, minimally, offers space for 90 students each year across a wide range of course options. Context and processes courses are also available during Summer Session. Click here for the Fall 2007 schedule for the program.
