Race, Ethnicity and the Moving Image
Images of race, place, and identity take on a special power in the medium of film – whether in television documentaries such as Wonders of the African World, in pervasive, negative images of Arabs in Hollywood films, and in popular films like Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai that blur cultural lines between African-American, Japanese, and Italian.
