Dr. Tim Vercellotti is Assistant Research Professor and director of polling at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University. He designs and conducts quantitative and qualitative studies of public opinion. Clients include academic units at Rutgers University, federal and state government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Major projects have included a national survey of county and local election administrators for the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, voter surveys for the New Jersey Clean Elections Project, and the Rutgers-Eagleton Poll, a statewide survey about politics and policy in New Jersey now in its 36th year. Vercellotti has directed or managed more than 40 telephone, web, and mail surveys at the national, state, and local levels since 2001. Prior to entering academia he worked as a reporter and editor for The Pittsburgh Press and the Raleigh News & Observer. He holds a doctorate in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. |
