Fields of Study: Information Science; Social Computing; Distance Learning
Research Interests: My research focuses on understanding how people think, learn, communicate and seek information in technologically mediated contexts. I am specifically interested in how they negotiate and make sense of space, content and resources in virtual learning environments. Applied aspects of this research include improved pedagogy, understanding and use of emerging technologies, web applications and new media; collaborative work practices and tools as well as improved understanding of design processes.

There's an interesting issue of First Monday (an internet journal) that focuses on exploring applications of 2.0 tools and new media in library and museum contexts.  One of the article talks about the pachyderm project which is defined as:"So what is this Pachyderm?
