Title: Title: Privacy and Libraries: An Oxymoron or a Research Opportunity?

A survey of privacy issues in academic, public, and school libraries reveals similarities and differences among libraries and suggests research directions that focus on technology and human information behavior.

Prior to joining Rutgers' LIS department Carol was head of the Education Library at Boston University and taught in the School of Education. She has worked in academic and school libraries. Her research focuses on adolescent information behavior, instructional interventions that promote information literacy and knowledge construction, and effectiveness of school libraries.
