Calvin Coolidge and the Roaring Twenties

Having recently published Calvin Coolidge, a biography in the American Presidents series from Henry Holt (edited by the late, great Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.), I've been invited to discuss Coolidge's presidency and his relationship to his hometown of Plymouth Notch, Vermont in, fittingly, Plymouth Notch, Vermont on August 4th. The event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. The book has been reviewed recently in The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Baltimore Sun, and numerous other publications. It argues that Coolidge is both an underappreciated inspiration to modern conservatives and an unsung innovator in using media and public relations in the White House.
