When I was starting out in my previous career, as a political journalist, I had the privilege to work -- apprentice, really -- with one of the all-time greats, Bob Woodward. Now SCILS has the good fortune to be bringing Woodward here to celebrate its 25th anniversary. I'll be interviewing him
on November 2, at 3:30 at the Cook College Student Center. It's free and open to the public. I hope to

Having recently published Calvin Coolidge, a biography in the American Presidents series from Henry Holt (edited by the late, great Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.), I've been invited to discuss Coolidge's presidency and his relationship to his hometown of Plymouth Notch, Vermont in, fittingly, Plymouth Notch, Vermont on August 4th. The event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. The book has been reviewed recently
