Just Wondering... Adult Entertainment and the Media Boom

Is there something special about the adult entertainment industry (aside from the obvious funding) which makes an especially unique and prolific breeding ground for new media delivery growth?

Simple monetary resources do not explain these abilities, media delivery of sexual content is not a necessity for life. Food is. Have we made similar leaps in food chemistry, and delivery technologies?

Demonstrably no, despite the great changes the overall health and access of the population has not changed to the extent which the voyeuristic pornography industry has changed and improved.

Likewise, health care. It's a global nesseccity. And we have made phenomenal changes and improvements in care and having resources in public spaces such as heimlich posters and portable defribillators (and trained operators of such...). New prodedures are perfected daily which extend and save lives. Period. But the access is limited to those on the liminal edges of access, the highest and the lowest. The masses don't generally have access or options to cutting edge care.

Pornography has limitations of access, based directly on economic status, but only at the very most meager end. The percent of the population (note I do not even say the adult population) who do not have access to either cable tv or the internet at home is miniscule. Although (digression) at the highest end where proof of access would be a problem there is no work around...

Regardless more people can access pornography anonymously and quickly then can get clean water, a balanced diet or effective healthcare. You cannot argue that it's an issue or priorities or profit- people crave health and drugs and love and food as much if not more so then sex. More over, the adult industry isn't even offering sex, merely the access to it. We're not talking about Spitzers 11k prostitute here, but about videos, still pictures and stories of adult content.

So given that finances alone do not guarentee the resources of sucess exclusively to the adult content industry, how do we explain the results that have become ubiquitous? Is there some property of media viewing and affective media specifically that coincide with sexual urges and satisfactions? Do people who view pornography have more time or skill to invest in the develope of new technologies of delivery? Do the participants and producers of the content have a specific skill set which lends itself to developing new terratories of access?

If I were to research this subject I would have to document the advances in media delivery stemming from the pornography industry, and then study and observe what adult content producers say and think about the reasons they have these opportunities, as well as how the consumers interact with the material. Do the consumers have an active role in the reproduction and amplification of the content they consume?

Is there a relationship between the authenticity or level of positive critical reception of literature which uses realistic dialouge according to CA and turn-taking structure mechanisms?  In other words, could we use adherence to Conversation and Discourse Analysis of literature which involves dialouge to judge its potential demographic appeal?Would a restrospective analysis of critical acclaimed

About a month ago the following article appeared in the New York Times, describing the boom of womb surrogacy as valid employement option in India.  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/10/world/asia/10surrogate.html The implicit customer/consumer in the transaction is a white upper to middle class western woman. The product is... what? A person? An infant? Time? Care labor?  Part of the ripple in the
